Farmers For America

Comment on Facebook

We are first-generation farmers, with a small livestock farm. It is blood, sweat, tears, money, and never-ending manure, but when I weigh the pros and cons, it is worth every moment. The reward that is most important to me: our healthy, thriving children.

Stewards of the land ❤ I would like to farm, & I will inherit part of land owned by my parents. Unfortunately, I will not be able to buy out my siblings & make it a working farm 😔

I discovered you company thru the documentary called "Food Inc". Thanks a lot to keep raising animal in an old fashion style as it used to be decades ago. I have a lot of respect for what you are doing.

I look forward to seeing this too. Anyone know where this might be shown? Would love it if the Visualite would bring it!

Was at the second screening. Amazing film! Thank you to everyone involved. Hope everyone can see this amazing film!

Eric, it's all you man. Sire twelve sons!

Greedy people & Greedy realtors are the reason family farms in America are being destroyed today!

Is there a showing near DC or Baltimore?

"A faith born not of words but of deeds" bravo!

Bodhi Anderson maybe we can bring it to Hilo!

This will make America Great Again!!

Thank you from Frog Hollow Farm Woolwich me. .

Love love love!

Jean Gaffin, follow the link and check out the trailer. They deliver in your area. Wish I could say the same here. Wish I could be them here. Headed to the greenhouse now.

Looks like turkey housing. Do they roam in pastures?

Eden Cooper this is hilarious

I'm a little concerned about the use of canola oil, as most of the canola oil in the US is made from GM crops. Could you speak to this?

Any chance those turkeys could make their way to South of the James Market tomorrow? 1?

Joel Salatin vs Monsanto: shocking excerpt from an upcoming podcast on the Permaculture Voices Conference website:

"I was scheduled to collaborate with (Sweden's) Royal Institute of Agriculture, but between the time that they booked me to come and when I came, Monsanto went and told the college that if they would get rid of their ecology department, they would fund the college 80%."

So the college threw out their ecology department and now Monsanto has moved in doing GMO research in Stockholm's Royal Institute of Agriculture."

This podcast (#19) is due out Friday: www.permaculturevoices.com/blog-2/podcast-2/

Anna Lehrman wrote on the original post: t's a bit confusing because no "Royal Institute of Agriculture" exists in Sweden, and no one here have any idea about what he's talking about (remember, Sweden is rather small). But the Department of Ecology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences is alive and well. I know because my department (Crop Production Ecology) share the same building. I work in the research programme Mistra Biotech which deals with many questions about the use of biotechnology in breeding; technologies, products, ethical and social issues, ecological consequences etc. We are funded by Mistra - the foundation for strategic environmental research and the university. (And we have never been contacted by Monsanto) www.slu.se/mistrabiotech/en

I was under the impression that GMOs were banned in the EU?

Hello again. Can we get some clarity on this post? Referensen and link to what department you actually mean as the one mentioned does not exists. Is this just fake news? From a few years back??

Gord Baird you might be interested in this. I can’t find any verification.

As of today, their department of ecology is still in place.

🙁 We all need to stop this insanity!

Corporate greed and money talks. Thank you Joel for your voice.

Take a look at this...Aaron Smith

So, what's changed since this was posted in 2013?

Is this from 2013 or current?

This is from 2013.....

Love the guardian dog! 😉

Is this SPAM?

Wow.

We’re thinking about sus-DANE-ability today (thanks to University of Richmond Sustainability and University of Richmond International Education!) and enjoying some wonderful photos of Jennifer Erkulwater’s First-Year Seminar “Not Just Food: US Policy and Social Justice” students at Polyface Farm. The class visited the Virginia farm after reading about it in Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma, and we were glad to support this great community-engaged learning experience! ... I have a question. 🙂 It looks like there are egg-birds in that one tractor. Are these tractors for egg birds, too, or is that a meat/dual purpose bird? Heritage breed? They look like barred-rock?
