Position: Buying Club Sales Assistant
Born out west in ‘big sky country’ and raised in the pristine County of Bath, Andrea has a genuine love and appreciation for the fine country folk of the Shenandoah Valley. Having studied fine and graphic art as well as non-profit business, Andrea brings a variety of skills to the roundtable here at Polyface Farm and expresses a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to serve our constituency as a whole.
In addition to working at Polyface, Andrea owns a whiteboard animation video-marketing company – Sea Billow Scribes – named after an old hymn she grew up singing in her father’s small country church. As an animation artist, Andrea specializes in telling stories that grow good business within our local community. She looks forward to producing video illustrations for her father’s Christian ministry as well.
In her free time, Andrea grows hard-shelled gourds which she’s learning to craft into garden lanterns and musical instruments. Eventually, she hopes to travel abroad in order to teach impoverished people how to create similar products, which she’ll aim to help market and sell.
Andrea also has a passion for music: she picked up the violin and began teaching herself to play by ear in the wake of a close family member’s suicide a couple of years ago. She has a 13 year old son – her pride and joy – who’s also studying violin and with whom she eagerly anticipates touring the music halls of Europe one day!!! Meanwhile, Andrea is practicing to play in a variety of local venues including her father’s church (Rehobeth in Milborro Springs), her own church congregation (Church Down Town in Staunton), as well as a few nursing homes and in-patient mental health facilities here in the Valley.
